    Description

    OpenShift Engineer
    Location: Charlotte NC or Irving/ Plano TX (Hybrid)
    Duration: 1 year
    Rate: DOE

    US Citizens and Green cards are Preferred.

    Key Responsibilities:
    1. Assess and understand the architecture, dependencies, and deployment configurations of existing applications running on Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF).
    2. Plan and execute the migration of applications from PCF to OpenShift, ensuring minimal disruption and maintaining application functionality.
    3. Implement the necessary configuration changes and deploy the migrated applications to OpenShift clusters, following best practices for container orchestration and management.
    4. Identify and resolve any issues that arise during and after migration, including deployment failures, container errors, and platform-specific problems in the OpenShift environment.
    5. Fine-tune applications and container settings for optimal performance, scalability, and efficient resource utilization in the OpenShift platform.
    6. Implement security best practices, including role-based access control (RBAC), secrets management, and compliance with corporate policies during and after the migration process.
    7. Work closely with development, DevOps, and operations teams to ensure smooth migration, provide clear documentation for the OpenShift environment, and offer support post-migration.

    Required Qualifications:
    1. Overall 15+ years of IT experience
    2. 5+ years of experience in designing and architecting enterprise container platforms, with 2+ years of experience with Red Hat OpenShift and Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF).
    3. Strong expertise in Java enterprise application development, including Spring, Hibernate, and Java EE.
    4. Extensive experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and container orchestration for Java applications.
    5. Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and hybrid/multi-cloud strategies.
    6. Familiarity with infrastructure automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform) and CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab).
    7. Experience with monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, etc.
    8. Deep understanding of Linux systems administration, networking principles, and Java application performance tuning.
    9. Familiarity with cloud-native patterns, microservices, and Java application modernization strategies.
    10. Scripting languages like shell / Helm chats modules
    11. Experience in Java based batch applications, ETL processing and Autosys
