    The Department of Accounting in the Carlos Alvarez College of Business at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UT San Antonio) seeks applicants for Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor of Accounting beginning Fall 2027.

    Department of Accounting in the Carlos Alvarez College of Business

    The Accounting Department has 14 tenured/tenure-track faculty members. Faculty members are actively engaged in research and support the existing doctoral, masters, and undergraduate programs within the college. Untenured, tenure-track faculty teaches three courses per year.

    With over 5,000 students, the Carlos Alvarez College of Business at UT San Antonio is AACSB accredited and offers a variety of bachelor's and master's programs as well as Ph.D. programs in four areas.     Position Summary

    Open rank tenure-track/tenured position in Accounting with an emphasis in artificial intelligence and analytics (open rank with a preference for assistant professors).

    Qualifications

    • Ph.D. in Accounting (candidates nearing completion of their Ph.D. are eligible to apply if the requirements for the Ph.D. degree are expected to be completed prior to the commencement of the appointment).
    • Specialization in emerging areas of accounting, including AI, data analytics, and technology-enabled auditing and assurance.
    • Strong evidence of scholarly research in areas related to artificial intelligence and analytics or closely related topics in accounting (e.g., a portfolio of research papers that are published or provide evidence of potential for publication in top-tier accounting journals).
    • Evidence of effective teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels in core accounting courses, including financial accounting, auditing, and AI, as needed, along with related professional service activities.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability and desire to work collegially with faculty and students from wide-ranging backgrounds.
    • This position may require the ability to maintain the security and integrity of UT San Antonio and its infrastructure per Texas EO-GA-48.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Published research related to emerging areas of accounting, including AI, data analytics, and technology-enabled auditing and assurance in top accounting journals.
    • Interest in mentoring and developing doctoral students.
