The David S. Congdon School of Entrepreneurship at High Point University is searching for a new colleague to teach in the Professional Sales program. The successful candidate will have at least 10 years of professional experience as well as clear evidence of leadership, reputation and advancement in the selling profession. A master's or equivalent degree with some professional sales experience is required.

The successful candidate could teach a variety of undergraduate sales courses, such as Selling, Negotiating, Sales Leadership, and Retail Selling. In addition, depending upon qualifications, there will be an opportunity to add more specialized courses.

The regular teaching load at HPU is three or four, four-credit-hour courses per semester on a 9-month contract with the opportunity for summer teaching. In addition, the successful candidate will have other administrative responsibilities such as academic advising and university service.

Essential Qualifications:

  • A commitment to quality teaching, professional growth, and university service.
  • Being a good communicator, collaborator and team player who can thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, extraordinary environment.
  • University-level teaching experience is preferred but not required.

Education:

  • A master's or equivalent degree with some professional experience is required.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide mentorship and advice to students in and beyond the classroom.

  • Maintain a professional self-development program.

  • Act as a representative and advocate for the program, school, and university.

  • Participate in committees within the department, school, and university,

  • Undertake other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the department chair.
