Posting Summary
The Rutgers Institute for Nicotine & Tobacco Studies (INTS), in partnership with the Rutgers School of Nursing, invites applications for one or more Assistant Professor, Research Track (non-tenure track) positions. The Institute is one of the nation's leading tobacco focused research centers and its faculty have received over $75 million in extramural funding over the past two decades. As one of the nation's largest, most comprehensive nursing schools, the Rutgers School of Nursing is dedicated to the pursuit of excellence in education, evidence-based research and health care delivery, and promotion of community health and is ranked among the nation's top 15 Nursing Schools in US News and World Report.
This position is designed for early-career investigators and will primarily support ongoing funded research projects within a highly collaborative environment. Faculty will work closely with established investigators to advance the Institute's research portfolio, contributing to activities such as data analysis, manuscript preparation, and study coordination. Candidates are expected to contribute immediately to funded projects and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams across Rutgers Health.
Research-track faculty may also pursue the development of an independent line of research and will have opportunities to contribute to or lead external grant applications, including as Principal Investigator, as appropriate.
The successful candidate will hold a joint appointment with INTS and the Rutgers School of Nursing. The Institute provides office space, research infrastructure, and access to resources to support scholarly productivity and career development.
This non-tenure track position is contingent upon the availability of funding. While this position's primary responsibility is in conducting research (80-90% effort) to grow and sustain extramurally funded research, a small allocation of effort towards teaching at the School of Nursing (10-20%) is possible.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience
An earned doctoral degree in a relevant discipline, such as public health, biostatistics, health communication, public policy, health services research or degrees in nursing, medicine, or other clinical fields who have advanced research training and relevant experience are encouraged to apply. Experience in Tobacco Control is required. We are seeking candidates with exceptional communication skills and a demonstrated track record in information dissemination to broad and diverse audiences via publications, presentations, and webinars.

We are seeking candidates with post graduate research experience, a demonstrated publication track record and exceptional communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications Equipment Utilized Physical Demands and Work Environment Overview
Successful candidates will devote the majority of their effort to research at INTS, with some time allocated to other duties (e.g., teaching, mentorship, and service). Salary, track, and academic rank will be commensurate with candidate's achievements and Institute priorities.
