The Department of Clinical Sciences in the Tilman J. Fertitta Family College of Medicine invites applications for a Clinical Faculty position in the field of family medicine or internal medicine We are recruiting new faculty who have achieved excellence in education, teaching, and research and are prepared to contribute to our bold vision (http://www.uh.edu/medicine/).
The Assistant Director for the Longitudinal Integrated Clerkship (LIC) assists the LIC Director in leading the core clinical experience in Phase 2 of the Tilman. J. Fertitta Family College of Medicine Curriculum. The LIC is an innovative and integrated model of clerkship education that enables medical students to become a member of the care team, follow patients through continuity experiences, and engage in six core disciplines of clinical practice in both ambulatory and inpatient settings over the four years of training.
Reporting to the LIC director, the successful candidate is an experienced clinician educator who will have collaborative oversight of the clinical course, clerkship directors and their respective academic coordinators.
This is an open-rank, clinical non-tenure track faculty position. Salary and rank commensurate with experience.

Required attachments by candidate:
Applicants must have a Ph.D., M.D. or DO, dependent on the position, from an accredited institution. Official transcripts are required for faculty appointment and will be requested upon selection of the final candidate(s). Physician applicants must possess an unrestricted Texas Medical License and board certification in their specialty. While exceptions may be considered, approval must be obtained from the Vice Dean of Education and/or the Dean of the College of Medicine and the Office of the Provost. All positions within the University of Houston System are security sensitive and will require a criminal history check. Physician applicants are required to provide documentation of current licensure and board certification as part of their application materials.
Employees are expected to have a home address in the state of Texas for the duration of their appointments.
