A well-established equipment dealership is seeking an experienced Shop Foreman to lead daily shop operations and support a team of technicians. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who understands equipment repair, enjoys helping technicians solve problems, and can keep the shop organized and productive.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily shop operations and technician workflow
- Assign and prioritize work orders based on customer and equipment needs
- Support technicians with diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs
- Monitor job progress and help ensure repairs are completed accurately and on time
- Review work orders and ensure repairs are properly documented
- Assist with complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diagnostic issues
- Provide technical guidance and training to technicians
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized shop
- Work closely with the Service Manager, Parts Department, and customers
- Monitor technician productivity and work quality
- Assist with scheduling and coordinating service work
- Inspect completed repairs to ensure quality standards are met
- Help identify training and development needs within the shop
- Assist with warranty claims and manufacturer requirements when needed
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience as a Heavy Equipment, Agricultural Equipment, Diesel, or related technician
- Previous leadership or Shop Foreman experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and diesel systems
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex equipment issues
- Experience with construction, agricultural, trucking, or heavy equipment
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to lead and motivate technicians
- Comfortable working hands-on while also managing shop priorities
- Ability to read service manuals, schematics, and technical information
- Basic computer and diagnostic software skills
- Valid driver's license
