Onsite AV Support Technician

The Onsite Support Technician will work in partnership with the customer, management team, global helpdesk, and service teams to provide on premises support for AVI-SPL customers at customer site(s) with the end goals of delivering a world-class Customer Service experience. WHAT YOU’LL DO

The Onsite Support Technician will work in partnership with the customer, management team, global helpdesk, and service teams to provide on premises support for AVI-SPL customers at customer site(s) with the end goals of delivering a world-class Customer Service experience.
The Support Technician is identified as a Tech 1 (T1) position intended to provide direct end-user support in the operation of the systems. In addition, the AV Support Technician will possess the training and experience to resolve minor problems and perform clean, inspect and readiness checks on systems as part of the routine preventive maintenance process.

 

Day-To-Day Responsibilities:

• Operateand test daily functionality of all AVand integrated conferencerooms
• Perform routine testingand problemdiagnosis for projectors, microphones,speakers,amplifiers&LCD/PlasmaDisplays
• Perform preventative maintenance toresolveproblem or identify resolution toappropriatevendoror manufacturer
• Troubleshoot AVN problemslastminuteas required as well as non-critical situations
• Assist with company meetings/functions that require use of AV infrastructure (audio, video conferencing, webcasting, visual displayorprojection,andcontrolsystem - AMX,Crestron operations)
• Interact with clientCustomer HelpDesk ticketingsystem to respondtoend userrequests
• Coordinates with clientstaff todetermineAV basic infrastructure requirementsforany newconferenceroomor mediadesign
• Setupand breakdown of all onsite meetings
• Daily system testing to ensureequipmentand room functionality
• Responsible forescalatingall "nextlevel" break fix issuesto their managerforresolution
• Perform remotetestingforlocaland regionaloffices
• EnsureallAVSspacesarepresentableforuse
• Other duties assigned as needed

 

Items to Consider: 

• AVI-SPL reserves the right to alter work hours and work location as necessary. Work hours may vary based on client requirements and may include travel to various locations in support of the account.
• This position will generally work on customer sites and may deal with a construction site type of work environment.

 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

 

Must-Haves:

• Ability to test equipment and perform basic troubleshooting
• Ability to work and think independently and ensuring to meet deadlines
• Basic computer knowledge
• Knowledge of basic signal flow for audio, video and control
• Ability to balance multiple tasks with changing priorities
• Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written
• Demonstrated customer service focus and client communication skills
• Valid Driver’s License and a Motor Vehicle Record that meets AVI-SPL driving standard
• Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent
• Must be flexible to work after hours and weekends when required
• Ability to regularly climb and work from ladders, lifting equipment, tools and materials

 

Education and/or Experience:

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
• Demonstrated working knowledge of AV practices and procedures
• Videoconferencing experience including operation, call set-up and equipment
• Knowledge of AV Control experience including Crestron, Extron, and/or AMX a plus
• AV Support in Corporate, Event facility spaces a plus
• Experience and knowledge of Zoom Conferencing Platform a plus
  
• ServiceNow platform knowledge a plus
