    Job Summary and Qualifications

    What you will do in this role 

    • Under direct supervision of the Oncology Director, this individual has coordination of the front office and back office staff, including schedulers and their daily activities. 
    • This individual will be the point-of-contact for all physician offices referring patients to the Cancer Center for Medical or 
    • Radiation Oncology; contacting the patient and scheduling the appointment, obtaining medical records prior to patient appointment and compiling all information into the new patient medical record. Position coordinates all outgoing consults and referrals. 
    • This individual will be the main point of contact for the Sarah Cannon facilities at LSMC and LRHC for new patient referrals. 
    • This individual will coordinate High Risk patients and Genetic Counseling appointments for CTMC and LSMC. 
    • Position coordinates with physicians, practice managers, puts together physician call schedule, physician CMEs, and physician vacation schedules. Position is the liaison between over-arching practice manager and clinic. Including assist with provider PTO, call schedule, and other duties as assigned. 
    • Position will coordinate scheduling functions for established medical and radiation oncology patients for follow ups, labs, chemotherapy, genetic counselors, financial/nurse navigator, as well as outside physician consultations and testing, i.e. PET/CT/MRI, etc. 
    • Position will coordinate reviews for any pre-testing preparation with pts, faxes appropriate documentation and/or orders etc. to receiving department or facility. 
    • Position will coordinate obtaining precertification or preauthorization as required by insurance companies. 
    • Properly documents in Mosaiq any pertinent information into Mosaiq, i.e. appt notes or precept numbers. etc.  
    • Notifies nursing staff, PAS and medical records of same day and next day add ones.  
    • Checks communication devices regularly (voice mail, email, qcl) as to provide timely responses daily 

    What qualifications you will need 

    • College-level coursework preferred 
    • Minimum 2 years of healthcare office experience required. 
    • Excellent oral/communication and interpersonal skills required. Demonstrates flexibility to handle multiple tasks with high degree of accuracy and control of detail.  
    • Computer skills required.
