    Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) – San Diego, CA

     

    A healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) to provide specialized nursing care for patients receiving cancer treatments and infusion therapies. This opportunity is ideal for compassionate nursing professionals who are committed to delivering exceptional patient-centered care while supporting individuals throughout their treatment journey.

    Responsibilities

    • Perform comprehensive patient assessments before, during, and after treatment

    • Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other prescribed infusion therapies

    • Monitor patients for adverse reactions and respond appropriately to clinical changes

    • Administer medications and supportive treatments as ordered

    • Provide patient and family education regarding treatment plans, medications, side effects, and symptom management

    • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation

    • Follow infection prevention, medication safety, and oncology treatment protocols

    • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate patient care

    • Support vascular access device management and intravenous therapy administration

    • Promote patient safety, quality outcomes, and compassionate care throughout the treatment process

    Qualifications

    • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license or eligibility for licensure

    • Graduate of an accredited nursing program

    • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

    • Oncology chemotherapy and immunotherapy certification required

    • Previous experience administering chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatments required

    • Oncology nursing experience preferred

    • Strong intravenous therapy and vascular access skills preferred

    • Excellent assessment, communication, and critical-thinking abilities

    • Ability to provide compassionate care in a fast-paced clinical environment
