Integrated Services for Behavioral Health (ISBH) is a community-minded, forward-thinking behavioral health organization helping people along the road to health and well-being. We serve Southeastern and Central Ohio with a comprehensive array of behavioral health and other services, working with local partners to promote healthy people and strong communities. The Onboarding HR Associate supports the employee onboarding process by coordinating pre-employment requirements, maintaining accurate new hire documentation, assisting with orientation activities, and serving as a welcoming point of contact for candidates, new hires, hiring managers, and HR team members. This role helps ensure a consistent, timely, compliant, and positive onboarding experience from offer acceptance through the employee’s initial transition into the organization.

The pay for this position is $21.40 to $25.05 hourly, based on experience, licensure and/or education.

Essential Functions:

  • Serves as a primary onboarding contact for candidates and new hires by providing timely updates, answering routine questions, and helping create a welcoming and organized onboarding experience.
  • Coordinates onboarding activities for new hires, including pre-employment communication, required documentation, and day-one readiness.
  • Prepares, distributes, tracks, and maintains onboarding materials, new hire packets, offer-related documents, and employee records in accordance with internal procedures.
  • Monitors onboarding progress, follows up on incomplete items, and helps ensure onboarding tasks are completed within established timelines.
  • Assists with onboarding-related reporting, including new hire status, completion tracking, time-to-start, and other recruitment or onboarding metrics, completes new hire tracking spreadsheet.
  • Initiates and monitors pre-employment requirements, including background checks, drug screens, reference checks, employment eligibility documentation, I-9 completion, and E-Verify, as applicable.
  • Conducts BCI/FBI background checks as needed, reviews results and initiates pre-adverse process and follow-up with candidates.
  • Participate in new hire review meetings.
  • Partners with hiring managers, Talent Acquisition, HR team members, and other internal stakeholders to support a smooth handoff from recruitment through onboarding.
  • Maintains accurate candidate and employee information in HR systems, onboarding trackers, personnel files, and internal databases.
  • Maintains working knowledge of HR policies, procedures, compliance requirements, and onboarding practices to support consistent and accurate process execution.
  • Provides administrative support to the HR team, including special projects, process improvements, file maintenance, and other onboarding or HR-related tasks as assigned.
  • Travels within the designated service area, as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

Education/Licensure:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.

Experience:

  • One year of administrative, human resources, onboarding, recruitment, or customer service experience is required.
  • Experience supporting onboarding, recruitment coordination, employee records, or HR processes is required.
  • Experience using HRIS, applicant tracking systems, Microsoft Office, Teams, SharePoint, or other cloud-based workplace systems is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities are required.
  • Ability to provide a welcoming, professional, and responsive experience for candidates, new hires, hiring managers, and internal partners is required.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee and candidate information with discretion is required.
  • Ability to follow established onboarding workflows, track completion of required tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment is required.
  • Working knowledge of basic HR practices, employee records, onboarding documentation, and pre-employment processes is required.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, HRIS platforms, applicant tracking systems, and other internet-based systems is required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization and build positive working relationships is required.
  • Ability to identify process gaps, maintain accurate records, and support continuous improvement of onboarding practices is preferred.
  • A valid driver’s license and the ability to operate a motor vehicle is required.
  • An appropriate level of auto insurance coverage is required.
  • Ability to maintain a reliable high-speed internet connection is required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer is required
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times is required
