Position Summary
The Construction Manager reports directly to the Construction Management Lead and is responsible for management of assigned Company's multidisciplinary site construction projects. The Construction Manager oversees and supports all aspects of the field construction projects to ensure adherence to the Company's contract terms, design specifications, policies, principles, and other regulations that provide safe, reliable, optimized, and cost-effective terminal construction.
Understands all facets of industrial construction management. Has knowledge of the transportation, storage, and processing of liquefied natural gas (LNG) or other cryogenic hydrocarbon liquids. In-depth knowledge of receiving terminal, equipment, maintenance protocols, governmental regulations and related technical and safety codes and standards is beneficial. A high level of health, safety, security and environmental (HSSE) awareness is required. Manager must be comfortable dealing with federal, state, and local government regulations and communication procedures.
Responsibilities & Job Duties
During the Engineering phase of the project, provide the following:
Constructability planning support.
Scheduling and coordination of construction activities.
Management of the Company's site construction team responsible for scrutinizing the construction contractor and its subcontractors.
Participate in project meetings as requested.
Participate in all pre-job task-based risk analysis (TBRA's) and Control of Work Permitting
Determine optimum staffing requirements and work schedules for the Company's site construction team that will meet productivity, safety, and quality objectives. Monitor and evaluate craft labor manpower and provide feedback to the Construction Management Lead.
Create and sustain the optimum site construction team environment in all aspects of the project.
Provide Company leadership and support to the contractors and subcontractors to make certain:
Policies and practices concerning site safety, security, and environmental regulations are implemented, routinely communicated, and enforced.
Approved contractual agreements, project specifications, work plan schedules, and other such requirements are accomplished.
Procured materials, equipment, and services conform to specifications.
Participate in the Management of Change process for all terminal modifications.
