On Demand Courier Dispatcher- Full Time

Use radio, phone or computer to dispatch drivers to appropriate locations and communicate with our clients . Minimum 2 years of proven experience as dispatcher or relevant position .

Dispatcher needed for a very busy Courier and Trucking Company. Must be available to work weekday evenings 2pm-10pm and Saturdays on a rotating basis.
 


Responsibilities

• Address problems and requests by providing solutions
• Receive and dispatch orders for deliveries
• Use radio, phone or computer to dispatch drivers to appropriate locations and communicate with our clients
• Monitor the route and status of drivers
• Provide drivers with information about orders, traffic, obstacles and requirements
• Enter orders and notes in the system
• Provide excellent customer service at all times
• Assist with quoting jobs

Qualifications

• Knowledge and experience with shipping and receiving processes and procedures.
• Proficient in the Geography of the Greater Chicagoland Area
• Minimum 2 years of proven experience as dispatcher or relevant position
• Experience in data entry
• Proficient in English (oral and written) and the geographical area
• Outstanding organizational and multitasking abilities
• Active listener with excellent communication skills
• Sound judgment and critical thinking
• High school diploma
