Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner – Occupational Medicine/Urgent Care

Location: 501 Huger St, Columbia, SC 29201 Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Assignment Length: April 20, 2026 – July 31, 2026  Specialty: Occupational Medicine & Urgent Care Setting: Outpatient Clinic

Position Overview

A well‑established outpatient clinic is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to provide high‑quality occupational medicine and urgent care services. The clinician will evaluate work‑related injuries, perform employer health exams, manage walk‑in urgent care cases, and complete common in‑office procedures. This role requires strong clinical judgment, autonomy, and a commitment to delivering professional, patient‑centered care.

Mileage reimbursement is available. Local candidates are strongly preferred, but lodging may be considered for exceptional providers.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat scheduled and walk‑in work‑related injuries

• Perform pre-placement, DOT, public safety, and surveillance physicals

• Manage urgent care cases on a walk‑in basis

• Perform common in-office procedures within scope of practice

• Communicate findings and recommendations to employers

• Ensure timely, accurate clinical documentation

• Provide autonomous patient care while collaborating with clinic staff

Required Qualifications

• Occupational Medicine experience — Required

• Urgent Care experience — Required

• Proficiency with office‑based procedures — Required

• Ability to practice autonomously — Required

• Board certification or eligibility in Primary Care or related field

• Graduation from an accredited NP or PA program (Master’s degree required, including preceptorship)
