Location: Williston, ND (Rotational Position) Job Type: Full-Time | Hourly | Non-Exempt Schedule: 28 Days On / 14 Days Off Rotation Travel: 100% Travel Required Position SummaryDeep Well Services is seeking skilled and motivated Mechanics to join our Maintenance team supporting field operations. This position is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing diesel-powered heavy equipment, trailers, hydraulic systems, and oilfield service units. Mechanics will perform both shop and field repairs, operate a company service truck, and provide troubleshooting and diagnostic support while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality. Essential Job Duties- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair diesel engines, including Caterpillar, Detroit Diesel, Cummins, and Allison systems.
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on heavy-duty trucks, trailers, hydraulic systems, and oilfield equipment.
- Diagnose and repair emissions systems, including DEF, DPF, and Tier 4 engines.
- Utilize manufacturer diagnostic software, including CAT SIS, Cummins INSIGHT, and Allison Diagnostic Software.
- Perform hydraulic troubleshooting, component replacement, and system rebuilds.
- Complete field service repairs utilizing a company service truck.
- Inspect equipment and identify mechanical deficiencies before failure occurs.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and inspection documentation.
- Operate forklifts, telehandlers, and other shop equipment safely.
- Assist with emergency repairs and participate in an on-call rotation as needed.
- Mentor entry-level mechanics and Mechanic I team members when applicable.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Minimum Qualifications- High School Diploma or GED required.
- One (1) to five (5+) years of verifiable diesel mechanic experience; oilfield experience preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, and diesel engine systems.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
- Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment background check, physical examination, and drug screen.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while contributing to a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience working on heavy-duty diesel equipment and trailers.
- Experience with Caterpillar, Cummins, Detroit Diesel, and Allison powertrain systems.
- Working knowledge of hydraulic systems and mobile equipment.
- Experience using diagnostic software and electronic service tools.
- Previous experience mentoring junior mechanics.
- Familiarity with oilfield equipment, preventative maintenance programs, and safety procedures.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Work Schedule- 28 Days On / 14 Days Off rotational schedule.
- Day, night, weekend, and holiday work required.
- 100% travel required based on operational needs.
- Must be available for overtime and emergency call-outs as needed.
Work EnvironmentThis position requires working in both shop and field environments, with approximately 75% shop work and 25% field service. Employees will routinely work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, wind, rain, snow, and other challenging environmental conditions.
