Job Title: Offsite Opthalmic Technician
Location: NYC, NY
Duration: 03 months Contract
Schedule: 8:00A - 5:00P
Hourly rate: $42/hour on W2 (Negotiable)
Job Summary
  • Perform preliminary screening examinations for physician review.
  • Conduct visual field, ocular motility, color vision, pupil, tonometry, tonography, and other routine ophthalmic tests.
  • Assess pupil size, equality, and reaction prior to dilation.
Key Responsibilities
  • Direct patient flow and obtain medical/personal information for patient charts.
  • Screen patients for non-ocular conditions as required.
  • Arrange laboratory tests, ophthalmic photography, outpatient studies, admissions, and surgeries as requested.
  • Explain diagnostic procedures and treatment methods to patients and families.
  • Calibrate, maintain, clean, and troubleshoot ophthalmic equipment, including:
    • Biomicroscope/slit lamp
    • Lensometer
    • Keratometer
    • Tangent screen
    • Tonometers
  • Clean and stock consultation rooms and laboratory areas with medications and supplies.
  • Sterilize and prepare instruments for ophthalmic surgical procedures.
  • Assist with minor office procedures, laser treatments, and operating room surgeries as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as an Ophthalmic Technician.
  • Excellent patient care and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in routine ophthalmic procedures and applications.
  • Strong ability to work with patients, physicians, and clinical staff.
