    Overview

    Job Title: Officer - Development

    Job Summary

    The Officer - Development supports the Foundation's philanthropic mission by assisting with donor engagement, stewardship, and development-related administrative coordination. This position helps advance Baptist's healing ministry by supporting meaningful relationships with donors, prospects, volunteers, and internal partners in a manner that reflects Baptist's values of compassion, service, integrity, and stewardship.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Will maintain a portfolio of donors and prospects with a goal of cultivating and stewarding donations
    • Supports donor identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship activities in alignment with the Foundation's mission.
    • Assists with donor communications, including acknowledgment letters, stewardship materials, pledge reminders, and other correspondence.
    • Helps maintain accurate donor and prospect records, contact information, gift documentation, and related development activity.
    • Provides administrative support for fundraising initiatives, donor engagement efforts, campaigns, and special projects as assigned.
    • Assists with research related to donors, prospects, community partners, and potential funding opportunities.
    • Coordinates with internal departments and Foundation team members to support timely communication, follow-up, and donor service.
    • Supports preparation of reports, mailing lists, presentations, and other materials needed for development activities.
    • Represents Baptist and the Foundation in a professional, courteous, and mission-focused manner.
    • Completes assigned goals and responsibilities in support of department and organizational priorities.

    Education Description

    Minimum Required: Bachelor's degree in marketing, Communication, Business Administration, or closely related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. .

    Preferred/Desired: Bachelor's degree in business administration, communications, marketing, nonprofit management, or a related field preferred. Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.

    Experience Description

    Minimum Required: One year of experience in an administrative, customer service, fundraising, nonprofit, healthcare, communications, or related support role.

    Preferred/Desired: Experience working with donors, volunteers, community partners, customer relationship systems, or sales preferred.

    Special Skills

    Minimum Required: Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, organizational ability, and a professional customer-service approach. Must be able to manage multiple tasks, maintain confidentiality, work collaboratively with others, and demonstrate commitment to Baptist's mission and values.

    Preferred/Desired: Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and experience using donor databases, customer relationship management systems, or similar recordkeeping systems preferred.

    Licensure Description

    Minimum Required: None required.

    Preferred/Desired: Current driver's license preferred if local travel is needed for donor or Foundation-related activities.

    Work Environment

    Work is primarily performed in an office setting. Position may require frequent sitting, keyboard use, talking, hearing, and interaction with staff, donors, and community partners. Occasional standing, walking, carrying light materials, or local travel may be required.
