JOB SUMMARY: Under limited supervision, serves as a lead engineer performing engineering assignments. Provides engineering assistance developing project plans, designs, and other related documents, cost estimates and other engineering technical reports for transportation projects. Provides training, support and knowledge sharing to other engineers.
JOB SPECIFIC DUTIES: This position will serve within the Water Resources Group of the Office of Design Policy and Support and may be asked to assist other policy groups as the need arises. This position will be responsible for performing a wide range of services related to post-construction water quality (e.g., MS4), erosion and sediment control, roadway drainage systems, and pond routing. This includes support of project delivery and overall compliance with federal and state regulations/permits. Responsibilities may also include providing instruction, reviewing current research and national practices, and serving as an SME in support of engineering studies and design.

In accordance with the Interview and Selection Process (ISP), an applicant must have no active disciplinary actions to be in good employment standing. Actions that may disqualify an applicant include letters of reprimand (active for 12 months after issuance date); suspension without pay or disciplinary demotion (active for 12 months from the effective date); Performance Improvement Plans (PIP) and Leave Restriction Plans (active until 12 months after the date of conclusion). In addition, an employee must have an overall ePerformance rating score of three (3) or higher on their most current evaluation. Please note that Memorandums of Concern are not considered disqualifying factors. Human Resources may remove any employee from consideration for selection who is pending a disciplinary action; however, if the action is resolved in the employee's favor, he or she will be allowed to compete.

Bachelor's degree in engineering from an A.B.E.T. accredited program OR equivalent degree in a related field and a Professional Engineer (PE) license issued by the State of Georgia and two (2) years of job-related experience OR Professional Engineer (PE) License with two (2) years of job-related experience.
