Starting Rate of Pay: $12.00 per hour

Length of Employment: Eligible for rehire on a semester basis

Job Summary:

The Office of Career and Professional Development - Corporate Relations team seeks a highly organized, detail-oriented Graduate Assistant (or Graduate Intern) to support employer relations initiatives, large-scale program planning and logistics (including HPU in the City, Career Investors, Life Skills Career Summit, etc.).

This role will provide project management support, assist with employer outreach and engagement, coordinate site visit logistics, and manage student participation data.

This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate student interested in higher education administration, career services, employer/corporate relations, student affairs, or program management.

Job Location & Hours:

The student employee will perform most or all job duties at: The Office of Career & Professional Development - Cottrell Hall. This position is fully in-office. No remote work is available. Business professional dress is required.

Work hours may vary depending on departmental needs; however, student employees are limited to a maximum of 20 hours per week. This position is 15-20 hours per week (flexible scheduling between 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM).

Responsibilities:

Employer Relations & Partnership Support

  • Assist with employer outreach efforts (email communications, follow-ups, scheduling meetings).
  • Research and identify prospective employer partners aligned with student career pathways.
  • Maintain accurate employer records in the career services database.
  • Support coordination of employer site visits, panels, and networking events.
  • Draft professional correspondence and employer-facing materials as needed.

Program & Project Management (HPU in the City & Career Investors Support)

  • Assist in planning and executing logistics for multi-city employer site visits.
  • Track and organize employer confirmations, site visit details, and program schedules.
  • Maintain comprehensive student participation records (applications, placements, contact information, travel documentation, etc.).
  • Create tracking spreadsheets, timelines, and project plans to ensure milestones are met.
  • Support cross-functional communication between students, employers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Prepare summary reports and program documentation as needed.

Student Career Development Support

  • Conduct resume and cover letter reviews and document feedback.
  • Support career-related workshops and events as needed.
  • Provide administrative and logistical support for career programming.

Administrative & Operational Support

  • Develop and maintain organized digital filing systems.
  • Assist with data entry and reporting.
  • Support office operations during peak programming periods.

Assist with other corporate relations initiatives as needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a graduate program (Higher Education, Counseling, Business, Communications, Public Administration, or related field preferred).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of organization and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Desired Skills:

  • Interest in career services, employer relations, or program management.
  • Experience with event planning or project coordination.
  • Familiarity with career management systems (e.g., Handshake or similar platforms).
  • Prior experience supporting student development initiatives.
