    Job Summary:

    Better Health Management is seeking a dynamic Office Medical Assistant responsible for performing administrative and clinical duties under the provider’s direction. Administrative duties include keeping the office organized, scheduling appointments, answering/returning phone calls, and maintaining office supplies. Clinical duties may include taking vital signs and recording patient medical history, preparing (cleaning & turnover) treatment rooms for patient exams, cleaning/sterilizing medical equipment as well as maintaining log books.

    Patient Management:

    • Greeting patients and checking them in for appointments
    • Verifying insurance information and handling patient registration
    • Collecting patient demographics and medical history
    • Answering phone calls and managing patient inquiries

    Administrative Tasks:

    • Overseeing general office operation
    • Maintaining a filing system for all patient documents and reports submitted, including electronic health records (EHR)
    • Ordering and managing medical supplies and office inventory
    • Handling correspondence with patients, insurance companies, other healthcare providers, and billing
    • Coordinating appointments and meetings
    • Coordinating domestic and international travel, including flight, hotel, and car rental reservations

    Clinical Support:

    • Taking vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse)
    • Preparing patients for exams by taking medical histories and documenting relevant information
    • Performing basic laboratory test
    • Informing the Doctor, Nurse or other healthcare facilitators about impending appointments
    • Assisting with minor procedures directed by the provider
    • Transcribing all notes and documents related to treatments

    Skills:

    • Organization and ability to multitask to complete a wide variety of tasks
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients and staff
    • Financial systems, including preparing and distributing bills, insurance and accounting
    • Knowledge of medical terminology and basic anatomy
    • Computer literacy and ability to use electronic health records (EHR) systems
    • Attention to detail to ensure tasks are written thoroughly and correctly
    • Risk management and audits
    • Medical ethics
    • Pharmaceutical principles

    Experience:

    • Microsoft Office: 3 years (Preferred)
    • Administrative experience: 3 years (Preferred)
    • Medical office management: 3 years (Preferred)

    Job Type: Per Diem

    Pay: $20.00 - $21.00 per hour

    Schedule:

    • Day shift

    Ability to commute/relocate:

    • Queens, NY and Manhattan, NY: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

    Work Location: In person

    Pay: $20.00 - $21.00 per hour

    Requirements


    Requirement:

    • High School Diploma or Equivalent
    • Certified Medical Assistant
    • Three years minimum experience as office manager or in a related field
    • Bilingual (Is an advantage)
