Description

Job Summary
A well-established marine services company in St. Clair Shores is seeking an experienced Office Manager / Service Writer to serve as a key part of the day-to-day operation.

This is a customer-facing, hands-on position for someone who is highly organized, confident communicating by phone and in person, and capable of keeping multiple customer projects moving at the same time.

You will work closely with the owner and management team to coordinate customer service, service appointments, estimates, invoices, scheduling, job tracking, paperwork, and daily office operations.

The ideal candidate is someone who takes ownership, pays attention to details, follows through, and can confidently handle both routine customer requests and more difficult conversations.

Marine industry experience is a plus, but candidates with strong experience in automotive service, powersports, construction, equipment service, customer service management, or other project-based service businesses are encouraged to apply.

Pay & Schedule
Pay: $22.00–$25.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, approximately 7:45 AM–5:00 PM
45-minute lunch

Occasional overtime or weekend work may be required based on business needs.

What You'll Do

  • Greet customers and provide a professional, welcoming experience.
  • Answer incoming calls and assist customers with questions about services, pricing, scheduling, and project status.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact throughout the customer service process.
  • Handle customer follow-up regarding payments, scheduling changes, project dates, approvals, and service updates.
  • Have professional and sometimes difficult conversations with customers when necessary.
  • Create and maintain customer records, job files, invoices, and project information.
  • Enter and maintain information in the company's CRM system.
  • Prepare service estimates, quotes, and invoices.
  • Follow up on estimates and customer approvals.
  • Track jobs and projects from intake through completion.
  • Coordinate with owners, managers, and production staff regarding schedules and project details.
  • Help build and maintain daily production schedules.
  • Keep paperwork, customer files, and job information accurate and organized.
  • Help maintain a clean, professional showroom and office.
  • Identify opportunities to improve office and production workflows.
  • Provide administrative and operational support to the owner and management team.

Required / Preferred Experience

  • Preferred: 3–5+ years of experience in office management, service coordination, customer service leadership, or a similar role.

  • Marine industry experience is highly preferred, but it is not required for the right candidate with strong service, customer-facing, and organizational experience.
  • Experience with CRM systems, invoicing, estimates, scheduling, job tracking, and customer databases is strongly preferred.
