Top issue priorities include preventing harm to our health from toxic chemicals, promoting climate justice, advocating for zero waste and zero emission policies, and protecting drinking water. Ensuring that those most affected by environmental degradation have a voice at the table, so that people can achieve community-driven solutions to environmental injustices, create healthy neighborhoods and make a real difference in people's lives.

Join Clean Water Action and Clean Water Fund in Ann Arbor, MI as our Office Manager, supporting field canvass and program staff. This part-time position is 16 hours per week and may be combined with canvassing to create a full-time position. You'll maintain the office, assist phone and field canvass teams, and handle various administrative tasks. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Answer incoming calls; screen prospective applicants for canvass positions, schedule qualified applicants for interviews with the Canvass Director; take messages for program staff.
  • Coordinate all recruitment activities with Canvass Director including campus outreach and recruitment, ad placement, career fairs and other recruitment outreach.
  • Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly canvass reports.
  • Maintain personnel files and track staff benefits accrual and use.
  • Process information requests from the public and refer to appropriate staff.
  • Provide programmatic administrative support including processing checks and donations and assisting with grant administration.
  • Assist with fundraising event planning and other development work.
  • Assist with communications work including maintaining our presence on social media.
  • Stock canvass materials and order office supplies.
  • Maintain office appearance; light cleaning and organizing.
  • Maintain computers and printers; back-up files; follow-up to get technical support when needed.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Confident oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Google docs.
  • Familiarity with major social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact positively with all employees
  • Detail-oriented, accurate and neat; with strong math skills and personal organization.
  • Strong work ethic, punctual, flexible, team player.
  • This role is on-site, necessitating individuals to commute to the office according to their assigned schedule.

SCHEDULE: This part-time position is 16 hours per week and may be combined with canvassing to create a full-time position. This is an in-person position. Candidates must be located within a reasonable driving distance of the Ann Arbor office.
