About the Role:
AJL Plumbing and Heating LLC is looking for a detail-oriented and organized Office Manager/Bookkeeper to join our growing team in Holbrook, NY! This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key behind-the-scenes role in keeping our operations running smoothly while working with a hardworking, close-knit crew in the trades industry.



Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day office operations, including phones, scheduling, and correspondence
• Maintain accurate financial records using bookkeeping software (QuickBooks or similar)
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoicing and payments
• Run payroll and ensure timely, accurate compensation for all staff
• Track job costs, expenses, and vendor accounts for plumbing and heating projects
• Coordinate with field technicians and management to support project scheduling and dispatch
• Prepare financial reports, bank reconciliations, and assist with tax preparation

Requirements:

• Proven experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or office management
• Proficiency in QuickBooks or similar accounting software
• Strong knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing
• Experience in the construction, plumbing, or trades industry is a plus
• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with strong attention to detail
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Strong communication skills and a professional, team-player attitude
• Must know AIA billing for construction
