Job Description

General Purpose of Job:

Team Member Health Coordinator supports the TMH team to assess Team Members and those providing support at UMH-Sparrow Health System to ensure safe performance of job functions and providing services to ensure compliance with applicable policies and regulations. Under limited supervision, performs clerical duties associated with greeting, registering Team Members including answering phone calls, filing, scheduling and entering data into the electronic medical record. In addition, this position will assist with ensuring SHS Team Members are compliant with MIOSHA, CMS and Joint Commission requirements.

Essential Duties:

This job description is intended to cover the minimum essential duties assigned on a regular basis. Team members may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned by their leader. Leadership has the right to alter or modify the duties of the position.

  • Greet, interact with, directs Team Members, visitors and others appropriately. Provide relevant information regarding department process and procedures.
  • Assists with filing, copying, chart preparation, answering phones, scheduling or calling lab/x-ray for reports.
  • Participate in compiling pertinent data for Team Members demographic records, registers and schedules Team Members, refers tests and other services and documents phone notes.
  • Maintains departmental records, files, correspondence, reports, schedules, etc.
  • Assists with medical record requests as needed.
  • Checks in Team Member Health and prepares charts for pre-hire physicals, and administrative tasks for the department
  • Assists Team Members for exam(s) and/or assist RN or Provider with exam, procedure or treatment.
  • Independently performs administrative tasks related to immunization (vaccine) clinics and data collection
  • May assist in collecting specimens for urinalysis and/or drug testing according to DOT standard guidelines.
  • Cleans and maintains equipment and environment. Keeps rooms stocked appropriately and monitors stock level. Prepares rooms for Caregiver exams.
  • Maintains professional standards by participating in continuing education, inservices, staff meetings and task force committees.
  • Assists in respiratory fit tests for UMH-Sparrow Team Members - using both qualitative and quantitative methods. Continuously involved in the process of quality improvement
  • Acts as a preceptor for new clinical support Caregivers.
  • Accepts and performs other responsibilities and duties as assigned by Team Member Health leadership.

Job Requirements

General Requirements None. Work Experience • Minimum of one-year experience with scheduling appointments and ordering supplies • Previous Health care safety experience, education, or training preferred • Previous experience Fit Testing preferred • Previous experience with OSHA requirements preferred Education • High school diploma or GED • Associates degree preferred Specialized Knowledge and Skills • Strong organizational skills. • Ability to take direction and complete projects on time. • Demonstrates behavior consistent with Sparrow''s values of excellence, service, people, responsibility, innovations and teamwork • Ability to communicate effectively with associates at all levels within the organization. • Demonstrates ability to use a keyboard as may be required to perform the essential duties of the job.
