About the Position: The Office Clerk serves as a school-based administrative support professional responsible for helping the campus office operate smoothly, professionally, and efficiently each day. This role works closely with the Office Manager to support school leaders, staff, students, and families through front-office reception, clerical support, communication, records handling, and day-to-day office tasks that keep the campus organized and responsive. In BISD, school-based support roles are an important part of creating coherent, well-run schools where teachers can focus on teaching and students can experience consistent support. The Office Clerk helps maintain strong daily operations by greeting visitors, responding to calls and correspondence, organizing materials, supporting scheduling and filing, and ensuring that office workflows are handled with accuracy, discretion, and professionalism. QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Certification: The ideal Candidate will possess the following qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required One to three years of experience in administrative, clerical, customer service, or school office work preferred Strong organizational and time management skills Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google tools, and basic office systems

May provide occasional work guidance, technical advice, and training to staff Ability to carry and/or lift less than 15 Key responsibilities include: Front Office Reception and Communication Greet students, families, visitors, and staff in a professional and courteous manner and ensure they receive appropriate assistance. Answer incoming calls, emails, and other correspondence and direct requests to the appropriate person or department. Support clear communication between the campus office, staff, families, and community members. Clerical and Administrative Support Assist with preparation of reports, forms, presentations, student documents, and other school materials. Maintain office filing systems, records, and document organization with strong attention to accuracy and confidentiality. Support scheduling, meeting coordination, sign-in systems, and other daily office routines. Provide general administrative support as needed. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Campus Operations Support Maintain office supplies inventory and communicate restocking needs in a timely manner. Assist with mail distribution, document routing, and general clerical tasks that support the daily work of the campus. Assist in organizing District events, including meetings, conferences, and social gatherings. Professional Service and Collaboration Collaborate with administrators, teachers, counselors, and other staff to support a well-functioning campus office. Maintain a calm, organized, and welcoming office environment for students, families, and staff. Provide general administrative support as needed and perform other job-related duties as assigned. Follow through with customer inquiries, requests, and complaints. Forward difficult and non-routine inquiries or requests to appropriate level for resolution.
