Position Summary:

The Office Assistant provides clerical support to the School of Business and assist new students in transitioning to the School of Business.

Essential Functions:
-Answer phones, transfer calls, and deliver messages
-Process mail
-Provide customer service to visitors, students, staff, and faculty
-Complete data entry and other computer-based projects, as assigned
-Assists with scheduling appointments for Academic Director, Associate Dean, and MBA Director
-Demonstrate how to properly navigate D2L, MyWashburn, Navigate, and Washburn University’s website
-Represent the School of Business at recruitment and/or enrollment events such as Junior/Senior days, Majors Fair, New Student Orientation, etc.
-Serve as a resource and direct other students in the School of Business to academic and institutional support services (tutoring services, career services, and the Student Success Center)
-Performs additional job related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
Candidate must be a current School of Business student in good academic standing (cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred).
Must have completed at least one semester as a School of Business student.

Preferred Qualifications:
Presentation, interpersonal, and communication skills to respond to a wide range of concerns with professional demeanor.
Spelling, grammar, and arithmetic skills so that they can understand and follow verbal/written instructions.
