The City of Topeka’s Property Maintenance Unit is seeking an organized individual to serve as its Office Assistant III. This position performs advanced administrative and clerical duties to support the department’s operations.
What you'll do:
Greet visitors, address inquiries, resolve issues, and escalate to appropriate personnel when necessary.
Answer and direct phone calls, emails and other correspondence.
File, retrieve and maintain physical and digital records.
Collect, manage and distribute ingoing and outgoing mail.
The ideal candidate:
Is highly organized with the ability to multi-task.

Has demonstrated experience operating basic office equipment.
Possesses excellent communication skills.
Minimum qualifications:
High School diploma or its equivalent is required.
Minimum of three (3) years of clerical experience is required, including experience operating standard office software.

Must pass an extensive background check, including a Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) background check, KBI fingerprinting, and polygraph.
