Therapy My Way is seeking a reliable, friendly, and compassionate Office Assistant / Front Desk Support Staff member to join our busy psychology practice in Plainview, NY.


Hours:
Friday: 4:00 PM–7:00 PM
Saturday: 10:00 AM–3:00 PM


This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, is organized, dependable, and understands the importance of discretion and confidentiality in a mental health setting.


Responsibilities


  • Answer incoming phone calls in a professional, warm, and courteous manner

  • Take accurate phone messages and relay information promptly to therapists and other staff

  • Assist prospective clients with the initial intake process and collect necessary information

  • Help coordinate communication between clients, therapists, and office staff

  • Assist staff with a social skills group, including basic setup, organization, and participant support

  • Perform general clerical duties, including filing, organizing paperwork, copying, and other office tasks

  • Assist with light building and office maintenance, organization, and keeping common areas neat and orderly

  • Help with miscellaneous administrative tasks as needed to support the day-to-day operation of the practice

Qualifications

  • Empathetic and comfortable interacting with children, families, and individuals seeking mental health services

  • Discreet and able to maintain strict confidentiality

  • Organized and able to manage multiple tasks in a busy office environment

  • A clear and professional communicator, both by phone and in person

  • Comfortable taking direction and working as part of a team

  • Willing to assist with a variety of office and facility-related tasks as needed

Experience working in a medical, psychology, mental health, or other professional office is helpful but not required. We are looking primarily for someone who is dependable, trustworthy, personable, and willing to help wherever needed.
