    Description

    OFCI MANAGER

Shamrock Business Consulting is working with a mission-critical builder to find an OFCI Manager.

On a data center program the owner buys the long-lead equipment directly, and somebody has to make

sure it shows up complete, undamaged, and on the day the schedule needs it. That is this job. Generators,

UPS, switchgear, transformers, chillers, busway — you own the equipment from purchase order through

installation handoff and warranty. When a ship date slips, you are the first to know and the one with the

    recovery plan.

    WHAT YOU'LL DO

Own the OFCI equipment program end to end, from purchase order through delivery, installation handoff, and warranty start

Maintain the OFCI responsibility matrix and keep the scope splits clear — what is owner furnished, what is contractor furnished, who installs, who commissions, who warranties

Track long-lead equipment against production slots and ship dates, and hold OEMs to their milestones

Coordinate daily with owner procurement, vendors, expeditors, and the project team

Align equipment delivery to the construction and commissioning schedule, and drive recovery planning when dates move

Schedule and coordinate factory witness testing, and confirm punch items are closed before anything ships

Manage logistics — routing, permits, rigging and crane picks, laydown, storage, and environmental protection of equipment on site

Run receiving and inspection, including OS&D reporting, photo documentation, and damage claims

Track warranty start dates and storage exposure, and manage pass-through of warranties to the owner

Collect turnover documentation — O&M manuals, factory test reports, spare parts, and special tools into the closeout package

Partner with commissioning so equipment is complete and available when L2 through L5 testing needs it

Report equipment status, milestones, and risk to project and executive leadership

    WHAT YOU BRING

Five or more years managing equipment, procurement, or materials on large construction programs

Direct experience with owner-furnished equipment models and the coordination they require

Working knowledge of critical power and cooling equipment — generators, UPS, switchgear, transformers, chillers, CRAH and CDU, busway, ATS

Comfortable holding OEMs and vendors accountable to dates without losing the relationship

Schedule fluency — able to read a P6 or MS Project schedule and understand what a slipped delivery does downstream

Strong documentation discipline; equipment logs, submittal tracking, and claims records that hold up under audit

Proficiency with Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, or similar, plus advanced Excel

    NICE TO HAVE

Data center, semiconductor, or other mission-critical program experience

Familiarity with commissioning levels and how equipment readiness drives L2–L5

Rigging, heavy haul, or logistics coordination background

Experience supporting hyperscale or colocation owners directly

    WHY THIS ROLE

Equipment is the schedule on a data center job. A transformer that lands three weeks late moves

energization, which moves commissioning, which moves the customer handover. People who can keep

that from happening — and who know what to do when it does — are in short supply and get paid like it.

This is a visible seat with a direct line to leadership and the owner.
