Odyssey of the Mind Advisor at John Adams Middle School
Meets Weekly after school. Competitions on the Weekend
Odyssey of the Mind (OM) is an international STEAM program that empowers students to use their creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills to develop original solutions to open-ended challenges.
Students work collaboratively to solve problems that may involve building mechanical devices, creating artistic performances, or developing their own interpretations of literary classics. Along the way, students develop valuable skills in teamwork, communication, budgeting, time management, public speaking, perseverance, and creative thinking.
The Odyssey of the Mind experience encourages students to embrace challenges, take creative risks, and become confident problem-solvers. Students apply what they learn in the classroom while incorporating their individual interests, talents, and passions. The program provides opportunities for students of all learning levels to grow as individuals, contribute as team members, and reach their full potential.
The advisor will support student teams throughout the creative problem-solving process and help prepare students to showcase their solutions at local, state, and World competitions.
