Grounds Worker

Job Goal: To maintain all school grounds through regular mowing and maintenance to all plants and shrubs throughout the year.

Job Type: ClassifiedJob Class Code: 7626Position Type: HourlyReports to: LeadGrounds WorkerTerms of Employment: Compensation will be based on 260 contract days on the board-approved 108 salary schedule. This position requires an 8-hour workday.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school graduate or G.E.D.
• Experience in operating mowing equipment.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.
• Push, pull or lift 40 pounds; kneel and reach above your head.

Performance Responsibilities:

• Performs day to day grounds tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
• Keeps supervisor informed at all times of problems encountered in completing their assignments.
• Apprise supervisor of any equipment needs or breakdowns regarding grounds equipment.
• Promptly reports to the supervisor any job-related injuries.
• Promptly reports to the supervisor any unsafe condition encountered on the school grounds that would potentially endanger employees or students.
• Performs all other reasonable duties within the scope of the grounds maintenance area as may be assigned by the supervisor.
