    Mobile Health Team Inc. is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) - Long Term Care (LTC) for a 13-week travel assignment in Newton, TX.


    Contract Details

    • Location: Newton, TX
    • Hourly Pay: $ 23.00
    • Non-taxed Stipend: $721.00
    • Weekly Total Pay: $ 1411.00

    A certified occupational therapist assistant, or COTA, supports patient well-being, rehabilitation, and recovery by providing direct support to an occupational therapist.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Implement therapeutic interventions and activities. This includes everything from fine motor exercises and activities of daily living (ADL) training to adaptive equipment training and sensory integration activities.
    • Monitor client progress and report outcomes to the supervising OT so treatment plans can be adjusted as needed.
    • Assist with documentation such as progress notes and outcomes reporting.
    • Help clients adapt their environments or approaches—for example, rearranging a kitchen for someone with limited mobility or teaching energy-conservation strategies after illness.
    • Educate clients and caregivers on adaptive strategies, home exercise programs, or assistive devices so they can continue therapy between visits.
    • Prepare equipment/devices and ensure safety during interventions and treatment sessions.
    • Participation in required meetings including but not limited to: patient care conferences, utilization review meetings, rehabilitation meetings, etc.
    • Participate in facility and company required trainings, in-services and conferences.
    • Able to obtain any necessary DME or supplies per regulatory and clinical practice requirements.
    • Able to supervise and support CFY or Student Speech-Language Pathologists
    • Adherence to ASHA and State Required practice acts, code of conduct, ethics during professional practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
    • Active ASHA and State Licensure

    Compensation:

    • Weekly Pay (hourly) + Non-taxed Stipend (if eligible)
    • Pay package details provided upon offer

    Requirements

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Must have 2 years COTA experience
    • Must have LTC or Rehab experience
    • TX State License or Compact required
    • Must have and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification during employment
    • Effective team skills including interaction, support, and respect are required.
    • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask
    • Willingness to participate in continuing education and training programs
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
    • Excellent communication skills, professionalism, and reliability
    • Ability to learn and apply basic computer skills including locating and opening documents, completing forms, opening and sending e-mail messages.

    Compliance/Screening (Pre-Start):

    • Drug screen and background check (facility required)
    • Additional facility onboarding forms as assigned
