Location: Highland, Pickaway, Ross, Jackson Counties, and surrounding areas
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:15 AM – 5:00 PM (PRN/As Needed)

Position Summary
The Occupational Therapy Assistant provides skilled occupational therapy services to patients in their homes under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist. Responsibilities include implementing treatment plans, monitoring patient progress, educating patients and caregivers, maintaining accurate documentation, and ensuring compliance with agency policies and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care & Treatment
- Provide occupational therapy interventions as prescribed by the physician and outlined in the Occupational Therapist’s plan of care.
- Assist patients in improving functional abilities and achieving established treatment goals.
- Observe, evaluate, and report changes in patient condition to the supervising Occupational Therapist.
Patient & Family Education
- Educate patients and caregivers on disease processes, treatment plans, and home safety practices.
- Instruct patients and family members on the proper use of adaptive equipment and assistive devices, including wheelchairs, walkers, canes, braces, crutches, and prosthetic/orthotic equipment.
Documentation & Compliance
- Complete clinical documentation accurately and timely in accordance with agency policies, Medicare regulations, and federal guidelines.
- Maintain compliance with all applicable healthcare regulations and professional standards.
Team Collaboration
- Communicate effectively with physicians, therapists, nurses, patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
- Attend required in-service trainings, staff meetings, and continuing education activities.
- Maintain communication regarding scheduling and availability with supervisors and scheduling staff.
Qualifications
- Current Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) license in the state of employment.
- Minimum of one (1) year of OTA experience in an acute care setting.
- Valid driver's license and current automobile insurance.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position.
Preferred
- Previous home health or home care experience.
