    Description

    School-based occupational therapist performs evaluation and treatment of impairment in functional status in daily living skills that are negatively affecting a student's ability to meet educational goals. Occupational Therapists provide consultation and other educational and advisory services for the purpose of preventing or reducing the incidence and severity of physical disability, bodily malfunction and pain, as defined by the IEP. The person in this position provides services to the following populations: School-aged children (generally ages 3-19)

     

    Required Knowledge & Skills

    Education: Bachelor's Degree

     

    Experience: No prior work experience required

     

    Licenses and Certifications

    HEALTHCARE PROVIDER (CPR)

     

    OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST

     

     

    Supervision

    Has limited supervision. May serve as supervisor to staff occupational therapy assistants and or therapy aides if assigned.

     

     

    Qualifications

    Bachelors, Masters, or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.

     

    Licensure by the Georgia State Board of Examiners of Occupational Therapy.

     

    Comprehensive knowledge of occupational therapy treatment procedures.

     

    NOTE: BLS within 30 days.

     

    One year of related experience preferred.
