Job Title: Occupational Therapist – School-Based Rehabilitation
Location: Arlington Heights, IL
Schedule: Mon–Fri, 7:45 AM–3:15 PM | Day Shift | 40 weeks
Hours: 7 hours/day, 35 hours/week
Payrate: $1400 to $1900/week (Based on experience)
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist (OT) to provide therapy services to students in a school setting. The OT will support students' functional independence, educational participation, and development of motor, sensory, and daily living skills.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate students' functional abilities and identify occupational therapy needs.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on student needs.
- Provide direct occupational therapy services according to established plans.
- Address fine motor, gross motor, sensory processing, visual-motor, self-care, and functional skills.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents/guardians, school staff, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate clinical and educational documentation.
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to student goals as required.
- Recommend adaptive equipment, therapeutic strategies, and classroom modifications.
- Educate teachers, caregivers, and school personnel regarding student needs and therapy strategies.
- Follow school policies, professional standards, and applicable regulations.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Current Illinois Occupational Therapist license or eligibility to obtain one.
- NBCOT certification preferred/required as applicable.
- Previous school-based or pediatric occupational therapy experience preferred.
- Knowledge of pediatric development, sensory processing, fine motor development, and school-based therapy.
- Strong communication, organization, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary educational team.
- Commitment to student-centered and evidence-based therapy services.
