    Description

    Position Title: Occupational Therapist

    Position Summary:

    A candidate should be comfortable working as part of a team and have strong oral and written communication skills.

    Candidates should also have experience in the following areas:

    • evaluating students using a variety of assessments
    • writing reports
    • writing goals, IEPs, and 504s
    • providing services in both inclusion and pull-out settings
    • working with students with a variety of disabilities

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Identification of children who require Occupational Therapy in the Winthrop Public Schools.
    • Screening, assessment and development of assessment reports and Individualized Educational Plans for children qualifying for Occupational Therapy services.
    • Provide direct and consultation Occupational Therapy services to students who have Individual Education Plans and 504s.
    • Timely completion of all paperwork, including but not limited to documentation required for IEPs, team meetings, progress reports, billing/logging, and departmental paperwork.
    • Deliver Occupational Therapy services throughout the Winthrop Public Schools.

    Job Requirements:

    • Prior experience in a school setting is preferred.
    • Experience working with children with special education needs is preferred.
    • Experience in assessment and development of high quality Individualized Educational Plans preferred.
    • Demonstrate good organizational skills and ability to meet timelines.
    • Appropriate licensure required.
    • At least 3 year(s) of relevant experience preferred.
    • Master degree preferred.
    • Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
