Purpose of the Position:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Pediatric Occupational Therapist to join our interdisciplinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to enhancing the lives of children through individualized occupational therapy services that promote physical, emotional, and developmental growth. The Occupational Therapist will provide therapeutic services to children with fine motor, handwriting, dressing, feeding, and sensory issues. The incumbent will consult classroom teachers and parents on how to appropriately help the child progress in his/her development.

Duties / Responsibilities:

Serve as a key member and work closely in the planning and organizing of a multidisciplinary team for the development of individual programs for children.

Conduct individual and/or arena assessments to determine eligibility and therapy needs of children.

Provides information and consultation to families.

Provides teaching instruction and/or supervision to university students.

Conduct and facilitate in-service staff training.

Provides consultation with other health professionals and assists with making referrals to other agencies.

Provide information and support to the team concerning the physical functioning of the children, especially in the areas of fine motor development, visual perceptual skills, sensory processing, handwriting, and feeding.

Participates in the classroom, embedding recommendations into the activities and routines of a natural learning environment.

Provides supervision of positioning and handling, the use of orthotic and ambulation devices, and other adaptive equipment, as needed.

Provide initial evaluations and yearly updated evaluations with a written report and suggested goals/benchmarks for intervention/educational plan. duties and responsibilities as assigned by the director.

Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the director.

Minimum Requirements:

Master''s degree in Occupational Therapy.

1 year of full-time verifiable clinical physical rehabilitation work experience.

Must be an Alabama State Board of Occupational Therapy licensure.

Must possess National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy.

Must have excellent verbal communication skills.

Desired Qualifications:

Previous work with pediatrics is preferred/pediatric CPR certification is desired.

Published Salary (if available):

$35 an Hour
