    Summary:

    • The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, provides patient treatment and therapy by following an established plan of care directed and supervised by an OTR/L. Responsible for mentoring Assistants, Technicians, and Students. Collaborates with other healthcare team members and physicians in a multi-disciplinary fashion to deliver the highest quality of care. Participates in CQI activities. Facilitates the provision of excellent customer service.

    Responsibilities:

    1. Provides patient therapy and treatment.

    a. Utilizes judgment and skills in implementing treatment plans.

    • Physician communication is timely and documentation is up to date.

    • Participates in CQI activities.

    • Sets example.

    • Monitors and holds co-workers accountable.

    • Teamwork

    • Answers questions. Communicates hospital and departmental information.

    • Collaborates with other healthcare team members in a multi-disciplinary fashion.

    • Assists in the orientation of new employees.

    • Mentors students and other rehab services personnel as assigned.

    • Associate Degree from an Accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program.

    • LICENSURE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION

    • Current NC Board of Occupational Therapy license. Occupational Therapist Assistant license or eligible.
