    General Summary The Occupational Safety and Environmental Technology Faculty member is responsible for delivering high-quality learning experiences in each course and throughout the program, in alignment with industry standards. Odessa College has been recognized nationally for its commitment to student success.     Specific Position Duties

    • Maintains up-to-date knowledge in the teaching field.
    • Demonstrates willingness and ability to teach various courses, schedules, locations, and delivery methods as needed and reasonably requested by the college.
    • Utilizes appropriately challenging coursework to help students realize their full potential as learners.
    • Provides students with clear written expectations, including syllabi, course policies, assignment instructions, and graded evaluations.
    • Administers assessments aligned with course content, including comprehensive final examinations designed to evaluate mastery of course objectives.
    • Affirms the worth and dignity of all individuals and supports the right of all students to learn through instructional practices.
    • Maintains an appropriate learning and assessment climate in traditional, online, or distance learning environments that encourages the free exchange of ideas while upholding academic honesty and objectivity.
    • Prepares thoroughly for class and arrives promptly for all instructional activities, including lectures, labs, and scheduled sessions.
    • Delivers course material in a clear, organized, and understandable manner.
    • Addresses student concerns, questions, and feedback in a timely and professional manner through class interaction, office hours, electronic communication, and other appropriate means.
    • Effectively manages routine procedures necessary for the successful day-to-day operation of the department, as delegated by the department chair.
    • Submits required reports and schedules to the department chair in a timely manner.
    • Develops and maintains effective relationships with professional colleagues throughout the college and the broader community.
    • Provides individual student advisement regarding degree plans and applications to ensure compliance with completion requirements.
    • Assists with recruitment, marketing, and outreach efforts for departmental programs.
    • Actively participates in college functions and events and engages in community service.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications Associates degree or higher from an accredited institution, and demonstrated competencies in the teaching discipline or a related field, including relevant technical training, certification, and professional experience.

    Preferred Qualifications College-level teaching experience preferred; relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of formal teaching experience.

    Annual Salary Hiring range

    Work Hours Varied according to schedule
