Job Details

We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Occupational Health and Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioner to join our team in the health and safety industry. This role is pivotal in ensuring the safety and well-being of our workforce, managing potential medical emergencies, and promoting health education. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality occupational health services, emergency care, and health promotion activities. This is a full-time, permanent position requiring a minimum of 4 years of experience in emergency medicine and 4 years of experience in Occupational Medicine.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide primary, acute, chronic, and preventive occupational health services to employees in the construction industry.
  • Manage medical emergencies on-site, providing immediate care and coordinating further medical assistance as required.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive occupational health and safety programs.
  • Conduct pre-employment, periodic, and exit health examinations.
  • Monitor the health status of employees exposed to industrial hazards.
  • Collaborate with management to develop health promotion strategies and wellness programs.
  • Provide health education and counselling to employees.
  • Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records on patients' health care plans and prognosis.
  • Adhere to the industry's safety protocols and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Liaise with external health providers, insurance companies, and other relevant bodies as required.

Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner (NP).
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in occupational health and 4 years in emergency medicine.
  • Certification in Occupational Health Nursing (COHN) or similar will be advantageous.
  • Extensive experience in handling medical emergencies, providing acute care, and promoting health education.
  • Knowledge of federal and state laws regarding occupational health and safety.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to educate and counsel both individuals and groups on health-related issues.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple cases at once.
  • Ability to work independently, make autonomous decisions and work collaboratively within a team.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the role, including being on your feet for extended periods and occasionally lifting heavy items.
