Wingate Management Company is seeking an Occupancy Specialist to join our team at Governor Apartments in Allston, MA. This role is ideal for someone with affordable housing experience who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing certifications, leasing activities, resident files, and multiple deadlines.
Full-Time | $30.00-$31.00 per Hour | Monday-Friday
What You'll Do
- Process income certifications and recertifications for multiple affordable housing programs.
- Process monthly Section 8 Housing Assistance Payment billing accurately and on time.
- Coordinate leasing activities, including applicant intake, interviews, application processing, lease packages, and new resident orientation.
- Coordinate and maintain the property waiting list while assisting prospective residents throughout the application process.
- Support rent collection efforts, including preparing and mailing notices to delinquent residents.
- Maintain accurate and confidential resident and applicant records while meeting multiple deadlines and supporting special projects as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- Previous affordable housing, occupancy, compliance, recertification, or related property management experience.
- Hands-on knowledge of income certifications and recertifications for affordable housing programs.
- Experience with Section 8 Housing Assistance Payment billing strongly preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and reprioritize work as needed.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills with the ability to work patiently and professionally with residents, applicants, staff, and outside agencies.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining resident and applicant confidentiality.
