Healthcare United is seeking an experienced OB/GYN Medical Director Physician for a full-time outpatient opportunity in Fairfield County, Connecticut.
This position offers a strong mix of clinical care and leadership, with approximately 75% direct patient care and 25% administrative responsibilities. The physician will provide outpatient OB/GYN care while also supporting clinical operations, quality initiatives, provider performance, team-based care, documentation standards, and overall care delivery across assigned locations.
The ideal candidate will be a mission-driven OB/GYN physician with strong clinical skills, leadership experience, and a desire to serve a diverse community patient population. The Medical Director will work closely with executive clinical leadership, nursing leadership, operations, practice management, quality, and clinical informatics teams to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care.
Job Responsibilities
MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
Completion of an accredited OB/GYN residency program
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology
Active or eligible unrestricted Connecticut medical license
Active Federal DEA and Controlled Substance Registration
Current CPR certification required
ACLS certification required
Three to five years of clinical management experience preferred
Outpatient OB/GYN, community health, FQHC, public health, or women’s health leadership experience preferred
Strong clinical operations knowledge
Ability to supervise, advise, mentor, and support physicians and clinical staff
Experience monitoring provider productivity, quality metrics, peer review, and documentation standards
Strong understanding of quality, safety, infection control, and ethical standards of care
EPIC experience preferred
Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work effectively with diverse patients, providers, staff, and leadership teams
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required
MHA or MPH preferred but not required
