In this paid applied learning opportunity, you''ll gain hands-on experience in program planning, family engagement, student outreach, data analysis, and project management. You''ll assist with events such as National Student Parent Month, help connect students with campus and community resources, gather feedback from student parents, and support training initiatives that strengthen family-friendly practices across campus.

Job Summary

A student assistant will carry out administrative and technical tasks requested by a supervisor. Depending on the area the student assistant is employed in, they may assist and mentor other students or provide support throughout the campus in various forms.

Job Duties

Knowledge: Basic understanding of student support programs and an interest in helping students who are balancing school with parenting or caregiving responsibilities.

Skills: Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to assist with events, outreach, and simple recordkeeping.

Abilities: Ability to work well with others, stay organized, take initiative, and create a welcoming and supportive environment for fellow students.

Required Education

High School diploma or equivalent. Enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours at Wichita State University.

Additional Requirements

Applicant must be a student in the College of Education.

Physical Requirements

Ability to remain in a stationary position. Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment including but not limited to phone, printers, copiers, and calculators. Ability to communicate with others and accurately exchange information.
