    Job Description

    Are you an expert in navigating the logistics of household goods (HHG) moving and relocation? We are seeking a strategic and highly organized OA/DA Military Move Specialist Manager to lead our Origin Agent (OA) and Destination Agent (DA) logistics business. In this role, you will oversee high-volume military moves awarded via third-party bid boards, coordinate crucial logistics with brokers and internal teams, manage a small team, and ensure top-tier execution of relocation services for those who serve. This role will also perform other non-military move responsibilities in support of NWVL's business partners.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Bid & Board Management: Monitor, secure, and manage move opportunities via third-party military and corporate bid boards. Review moves scope, timelines, and compliance requirements to ensure accurate quotes.
    • Logistics Coordination: Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of household goods shipments, including packing, transportation, storage, delivery, and specialty services, across both military and non-military (commercial) moves.
    • Team Management: Directly supervise and develop a small team of coordinators/specialists, assigning workload, setting performance expectations, and providing day-to-day guidance and coaching.
    • Vendor & Broker Relations: Partner efficiently with Military Move Brokers, internal dispatch, and approved third-party vendors to execute seamless services.
    • Escalation & Resolution: Make real-time operational decisions to mitigate delays, handling exceptions via established escalation pathways (e.g., Red Alert systems).
    • Quality Assurance & Billing: Drive strict adherence to company policy, contractual obligations, and military service standards. Ensure documentation accuracy to support billing and prompt move close-outs.
    • Non-Military Move Support: Perform non-military move responsibilities in support of NWVL's business partners.
    • Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications & Requirements

    • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • Managerial Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of prior supervisory or managerial experience, including direct oversight of staff, is required.
    • Moving Experience: Minimum of 3+ years of experience directly within the moving/relocation customer service and operations industry. Specific exposure to household goods (HHG) and 3rd party Military moves is highly preferred; experience with non-military (commercial) HHG moves is a plus.
    • Industry Knowledge: Deep familiarity with Origin Agent (OA) and Destination Agent (DA) processes, high-volume move environments, and military moving broker networks.
    • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead or manage a small team, with the ability to delegate effectively and hold team members accountable to performance and compliance standards.
    • Decision Quality: Exercises sound, timely judgment on operational and escalation matters, weighing costs, compliance requirements, and customer impact to reach the best outcome.
    • Collaboration: Works well with others across internal teams, brokers, and vendors, building cooperative working relationships that support seamless move execution.
    • Communication: Communicates clearly and professionally, verbally and in writing, with internal teams, brokers, customers, and business partners.
    • Attention to Detail: Reviews move documentation, quotes, and billing with a high degree of accuracy, catching discrepancies before they become costly errors.
    • Organizational Skills: Manages multiple moves, deadlines, and priorities simultaneously, keeping documentation and workflows well organized.
    • Sense of Urgency: Responds promptly to escalations, delays, and time-sensitive requests, treating deadlines tied to military and customer commitments with appropriate priority.
