Job Summary:
NAES is seeking an O&M Technician to support operations and maintenance activities at a simple cycle combustion turbine facility in Northern California. This role is part of a small team environment and will be responsible for both operating plant equipment and performing hands-on maintenance activities to support safe, reliable plant performance. The ideal candidate will bring a strong multi-craft background with experience in gas turbine operations, mechanical and electrical systems, and basic instrumentation troubleshooting.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate gas turbine generators and associated auxiliary systems in accordance with plant procedures
- Perform plant startups, shutdowns, and routine operational monitoring
- Conduct equipment rounds, record readings, and identify abnormal operating conditions
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and basic instrumentation systems
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on plant equipment and systems
- Execute equipment switching, isolation, and tagging in accordance with safety procedures
- Read and interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, and technical manuals
- Maintain accurate logs, reports, and maintenance records while supporting overall plant reliability
Job Requirements:
- Strong hands-on experience in power generation or heavy industrial operations and maintenance
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and basic instrumentation systems
- Working knowledge of plant systems including turbines, pumps, valves, compressors, and water treatment systems
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a small team environment
- Willingness to work flexible schedules, including off-hours support as needed
Education / Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 3+ years of experience in power generation or a similar industrial environment preferred
Compensation:
The hourly rate for this position generally ranges between $50-$55.
