A fast-growing global manufacturer of sealing systems is seeking an O&G Global Market Director to join the team. This role offers the opportunity to take an influential leadership position within the global sales organization, focused entirely on growing the company’s presence in the oil and gas market segment. The O&G Global Market Director is responsible for all aspects of business development, strategic account management, and market growth within the global oil and gas vertical, serving as the focal point for all technical, commercial, and strategic activities in the assigned market.

Salary + Additional Benefits:
  • $140,000–$180,000

Type of Position: Direct Hire

Responsibilities:
  • Sales Management
    • Ensure sales and profitability goals are met within the oil and gas market segment.
    • Report relevant market information and developments to the VP, Sales and Marketing in a timely manner.
    • Evaluate and analyze results of marketing programs and contribute relevant feedback through regular reporting.
    • Propose sales goals, forecasts, training materials, and tactics for local markets in collaboration with regional sales management.
    • Support sales personnel and customers with adequate collateral materials.
    • Foster assigned global key customer relationships to lead existing customer growth.
    • Marshall resources company-wide to influence business objectives in the assigned market.
    • Be attuned to and report competitive intelligence to support company strategy.
  • Project Management
    • Coordinate customer project activities with Engineering, Production, Quality, and Customer Service as necessary.
    • Support strategic market development by identifying companies in proven successful niche applications and assessing their viability to utilize the company’s technology, with the help of the local sales organization.
    • Visit prospects and customers to build strong relationships with end customers and credibility among local sales personnel.
    • Ensure adequate communication and feedback of relevant customer information to appropriate parties.
    • Find, qualify, nurture, close, and retain customers and contacts in conjunction with local sales representation.
  • Planning & Strategy
    • Develop and propose sales and marketing plans to support business development within the framework of the strategic plan.
    • Develop and propose sales strategies to meet customer needs.
    • Help develop and propose refinements to the most effective sales channels for the assigned global market opportunity.
    • Communicate trends that will affect future planning decisions.
    • Submit regular sales and operating budgets for sales plans in alignment with the strategic plan.
    • Author an annual operating plan for the assigned market vertical.
    • Drive new product ideation related to critical customer needs.
  • Additional Responsibilities
    • Assist in onboarding of salespeople by providing training and supporting customer visits at key accounts.
    • Contribute blog content for website and social media as subject matter expert.
    • Travel 40–60% domestically and internationally as required.

Requirements:
  • College degree required; Engineering or technical degree preferred
  • 5+ years of sales experience growing international markets preferred 
  • Oil and gas customer market experience required
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong technical aptitude
  • Excellent relationship-building skills
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently in a remote environment
  • Willing and available to travel internationally 40–60%
