Description:
A well-established restaurant group seeks a General Manager to lead a busy, full-service restaurant in Manhattan.
This is a hands-on leadership role for a hospitality professional who wants real ownership of results and a stake in the group's growth. The General Manager leads the floor and sets the standard for service across front and back of house.
Responsibilities:
- Lead daily service and hold the team to a high standard of guest care
- Build and enforce SOPs and steps of service
- Oversee scheduling, labor, food and beverage costs, and sales reporting
- Hire, train and develop a large, diverse team
- Work closely with the kitchen to keep communication clear
- Maintain health, safety and sanitation standards
Requirements:
- Experience managing a full-service restaurant
- Hands-on background across the restaurant, with prior time as a server or bartender
- Bilingual English and Spanish
- Working knowledge of food cost, labor and P&L management
- Comfortable with restaurant software and computer-based reporting
- A strong floor presence, with the authority to lead the team during service
- Patience and professionalism when working with leadership
- Availability for a 5-day schedule, including nights and weekends
