DESCRIPTION


We are seeking a talented Service Manager to oversee service for a dynamic, event-heavy, chef-driven operation in Brooklyn. The Service Manager is responsible for ensuring exceptional guest experiences, leading and developing a high-performing service team, and maintaining operational excellence within the establishment. Reporting to the General Manager, Assistant General Manager, and Directors, this individual plays a crucial role in upholding service standards, enhancing the overall guest experience, and driving operational success. We are seeking a dynamic, goal-oriented leader who will hold all team members accountable to company standards, foster a positive team environment, and inspire a culture of hospitality excellence.


Core Responsibilities

  • Conducts regular performance evaluations, providing ongoing coaching, feedback, and corrective actions when necessary. 
  • Retains talent by inspiring, teaching, and embracing a culture of continuous development and self-education. 
  • Devises and communicates daily floor plans, staffing levels, and pre-shift notes to the front-of-house team. 
  • Ensures all steps of service are followed, side work is completed, and daily opening/closing procedures are strictly executed. 
  • Verifies and tests staff knowledge of food, beverage, and service standards. 
  • Facilitates seamless communication between front-of-house and back-of-house teams to coordinate special guest requests and dietary needs. 
  • Promotes and complies with all health, safety, and environmental regulations. 


Operational Involvement

  • Maintaining a strong, helpful presence on the floor, ready to step in and assist service staff during peak hours. 
  • Performing table touches throughout every service to evaluate satisfaction and cultivate regular guests. 
  • Addressing and resolving guest complaints with grace, professionalism, and timeliness. 
  • Verifying that reservation books are correctly plotted and manageable prior to service. 
  • Managing the dining room environment, including music, lighting, temperature, and overall cleanliness. 
  • Leading dynamic, motivating pre-shift meetings and staff training sessions. 



REQUIREMENTS


  • Minimum of 1 year of management experience overseeing a full-service restaurant. 
  • Proven track record of leading high-caliber, upscale service with strong knowledge of industry protocols. 
  • Willingness to learn and be mentored
  • Demonstrated experience with wine sales in a service environment. 
  • Events experience a huge plus.
  • Proficiency in modern POS and reservation systems, with the ability to act as Maître D. 
  • Must possess an NYC Food Protection Certificate and deep knowledge of health regulations. 
  • A self-driven, composed, and proactive attitude with strong conflict resolution and leadership skills. 
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
