NX Designer

Long-Term Contract | 100% Onsite

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Designer for a long-term contract opportunity with our client in Batavia, IL. This position will work onsite under limited supervision supporting a large-scale technical project.

The Designer will prepare mechanical designs and drawings utilizing NX1980 and Teamcenter, correctly applying ASME Y14.5M-1994 (or later) GD&T standards. The role will work directly with engineering staff to research and analyze design solutions, coordinate design development, and specify and select appropriate components and materials.

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical designs and drawings utilizing NX1980 and Teamcenter.

• Create advanced-level 3D CAD models and detailed 2D engineering drawings.

• Apply GD&T principles in accordance with ASME Y14.5M-1994 or later standards.

• Perform design tolerance and tolerance stack-up calculations.

• Develop layout designs and detailed mechanical drawings.

• Work directly with engineering staff to research, analyze, and develop design solutions.

• Coordinate design development with engineers and other project stakeholders.

• Specify and select appropriate design components and materials.

• Follow established design/drafting procedures and project requirements.

• Manage CAD models, drawings, revisions, and associated design data within Teamcenter.

• Produce accurate, high-quality design deliverables while meeting established project schedules and deadlines.

Project Deliverables

• Design tolerance and stack-up calculations.

• Mechanical layout designs.

• Detailed component and assembly designs.

• Advanced-level 3D models.

• Complete 2D engineering drawings.

• All 3D models and 2D drawings will be completed in NX1980 and managed through Teamcenter.

• Deliverable quantities will be determined based on individual project tasks.

Quality Assurance

• Perform work in accordance with applicable quality assurance and design/drafting procedures.

• Ensure designs and drawings meet applicable project standards and requirements.

• All work will be subject to review, checking, and approval by designated project personnel.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience using Siemens NX with Teamcenter.

• Minimum 5 years of recent experience working as a Designer.

• Demonstrated proficiency with NX1980 CAD; candidates must successfully demonstrate proficiency during a Zoom-based interview.

• Advanced ability to create complex 3D CAD models using advanced NX features.

• Strong experience developing detailed 2D engineering drawings.

• Strong knowledge and proper application of GD&T, including ASME Y14.5 standards.

• Experience performing tolerance and stack-up calculations.

• Strong mechanical design and detailing experience.

• Ability to research and analyze design solutions in collaboration with engineering teams.

• Ability to consistently deliver accurate, high-quality work within deadline-driven project environments.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently under limited supervision.

Work Schedule

• 100% onsite in Batavia, IL.

• 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.

• Work hours between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM Central Time.

• No remote or hybrid work.
