The Pacific Index is a multimedia publication, producing both print and broadcast media. Starting in Spring Term 2026, the Index began producing BoxerTV, a weekly show that highlights sport and culture events at Pacific University. Essential to the production is a Director who oversees in-studio and field production of scripts, interviews and anchor desk.

Each Monday, students from the Index produce a short TV news-styled video. Each "show" will contain several segments that recap recent sport or cultural events involving Pacific University students. Each segment will run roughly two minutes, including three main parts: one, an introduction and analysis of the event; two, pre-produced video highlights from the event (as provided by the Athletic Department, Theater Department, etc.); and three, a short "outro" that provides any additional information about the event and about similar upcoming events.

The Studio Director will be available each Monday for 15 - 30 minutes pre-production, 1 hour production and 15 - 30 minutes post-production; roughly 1.5 - 3 hours each Monday, some of which will be coordinated with the Index students who are presenting ("anchoring") the segment.

Pre-production responsibilities include: Assuring that the studio is set up properly and ready for filming (lighting, green screen, mics, camera). Roughly 30 minutes.

Production responsibilities include: Overseeing the proper production and filming of an anchor- style newscast, including: Coaching a student "anchor" to report the information, providing direction for production and assuring performances align with the available production.

These segments will be filmed and produced each week throughout each term; roughly 40 hours each term.

Wage rate: $16.80/hr
