Responsibilities & Requirements

Position duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Responding to inquiries regarding billing and collection processing in compliance with CBO Patient Financial Services departmental policies and procedures.
  • Working with patients and other callers in response to both hospital and physician billing questions.
  • Utilizing a working knowledge of all insurance payers to answer patient questions.
  • Demonstrating a high level of knowledge regarding the types of hospital and professional services.
  • Possessing a strong understanding of how denials impact services related to the patients benefit/coverage plan.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • High school Diploma.
  • 3 years previous experience in hospital or physician settings.
  • Previous experience in patient accounting, medical billing, and medical terminology.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associates degree.
